For the tiny price tag, it’s really a good camera. The mobile app it’s designed for is subpar, but it works. I get sound/motion alerts constantly so it’s doing its job. To view the web interface you have to use Internet Explorer, type in the IP address of your camera, and login using the default credentials: admin/111111. By default, the camera is set up to use DHCP so it will pick up an IP address automatically. I used an network IP scanner like Angry IP to find the IP address of my camera.

The biggest problem is that you have to use the MeShare or ZSight apps. I couldn’t get iSpy or SightHound to register this camera.

The FPS is awesome, but only when you’re on wifi obviously. If you’re out hiking and get an alert, don’t expect your cell signal to view your camera in HD smoothly, but that’s the cell signal’s fault, not camera.

I bought one to watch the front door as we live in a 2-story home and when the doorbell rings, I need to make sure I don’t waste my time going down to answer the door for a solicitor. This works great for this. I got an alert on my iPhone when the FedEx man arrived.

Also, I was very impressed at the night-vision quality. All I saw on the camera itself was a small red light. I thought it was recording at first, but it was the night mode signal. This camera is awesome for the price.

Update – After the firmware upgrade, this camera’s management feature is extinct. No way to set up zones or name the camera. Just use the stupid little app to view. Threw the Zmodo cams I bought in the trash.

Awesome little IP cam it’s got great nightvision and the HD quality is great. It would’ve been nice if it had a battery that you can recharge instead of having to plug it in the wall but it doesn’t so I had to improvise and use the power bank see picture the actual power bank I’m using is RAVPower 6000mAh Luster Portable Charger with iSmart Technology(External Battery Pack, Power Bank. I got this from Amazon for about $23.

The Camera’s App May Control Your Phone in Ways You Hadn’t Planned On., July 9, 2016

Bought this camera because it seemed like it was a decent price, got decent reviews. When I went to install it, I checked the permissions of the application software because I am concerned about what data various companies are trying to get via their apps. The app that the camera uses, MeShare, is pretty scary. These are the permissions that it will place on your phone/device once you load the software:

    It will allow itself to:

Take pictures and videos with your device’s camera
    Read your contacts
    Find accounts on your device
Access your approximate location based on network
Access your precise location with the GPS in the device
    Record audio with your microphone
    Read phone status and identity
    Read your call logs
    Directly call phone numbers
    Receive text messages
    Read your text messages
    Send and view SMS messages
Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
Read the contents of your USB storage
    Disable your screen lock
    Allow Wi-Fi multicast reception
    Close other applications
    Prevent your phone from sleeping
    Connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
    Control your flashlight
    Receive data from the Internet
    Access your Bluetooth settings
    Control vibration
    View your network connections
    Have full network access
    Retrieve running applications
    Change your network connectivity
    Run at startup
    View Wi-Fi connections

So some of these things, sure, I would think the app would need to do. But I am not comfortable allowing this app to take over my phone with its scary list of permissions. So buyer beware!
